You get
JPG image with increased file size in KB matching your target.

How it works

  1. Choose your target size. Pick a quick preset chip like 20 KB or 50 KB, or type your required minimum KB.
  2. Upload your photo or signature. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP file from your phone or computer.
  3. Verify and download. Check that the size meets your target and download your enlarged JPG file.

What changes in the file

The image is saved again as a high-quality JPG at the exact same pixel dimensions. If that file is still smaller than your minimum KB target, standard empty comment data is added to the file structure. JPEG comment markers are part of the official JPEG standard and are ignored by image viewers and web browsers.

Making an image file bigger in KB does not make the picture sharper, clearer or higher resolution. It only increases the file size so it passes portals that enforce a minimum file size limit.

To change the width or height in pixels, use Image Resizer.

Check it yourself: your file is not uploaded

  1. Choose your file on this page.
  2. Turn off Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  3. Run the tool. It still finishes and saves the result, because all the work happens in your browser.

On a computer you can also open the browser's developer tools (F12), choose the Network tab and watch: no request carries your file.

Make small images meet portal file size minimums

When an online form or portal rejects an image because its file size is too small, you can increase its size in KB while keeping its pixel size. The picture is saved again as a high-quality JPG.

All processing takes place in your browser on your device. Your images are never uploaded to a server.

To resize pixel dimensions instead, use Image Resizer. To shrink large files, use Compress Image.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a form need a minimum KB?

Each portal sets its own limits and usually does not say why. Check the minimum in your form's official notice; this tool makes the file meet it.

Does this make my photo better?

No. Increasing the file size in KB does not make the photo sharper or improve its resolution. It only increases the file size so that it meets the form's minimum requirement.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Your image never leaves your device. All processing happens entirely inside your browser, and the tool works offline after your first visit.

My form also needs an exact pixel size. What do I do?

Use Exam Photo Resizer for official exam notice sizes, or Image Resizer to set custom pixel dimensions.
