What to Expect from Browser-Based Conversion

Text-Only Extraction

Extracts headings, paragraphs, and lines in reading order. Fonts, complex columns, and background graphics are omitted.

Scanned PDF Limitation

Image-only PDFs (scanned pages without an OCR text layer) contain no text streams and cannot be converted without OCR.

100% Private

All processing happens in your browser via local Web Worker scripts. Your files never leave your computer or phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. PDF to Word runs completely on your device using browser JavaScript libraries. No file data is sent to our servers.

Why does my scanned PDF show no text?

Scanned documents are pictures of text rather than electronic text. Since this free tool runs client-side without heavy OCR models, it only extracts digital text layers.

Can I convert password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are not supported. Remove the password before converting.

What is the maximum supported PDF size?

Files up to 50 MB and 300 pages are supported.

Check it yourself: your file is not uploaded

  1. Choose your file on this page.
  2. Turn off Wi-Fi or mobile data.
  3. Run the tool. It still finishes and saves the result, because all the work happens in your browser.

On a computer you can also open the browser's developer tools (F12), choose the Network tab and watch: no request carries your file.
